Reading Portrait of Jennie . . .

One day the family and I were at a local shopping mall.
I don’t remember the circumstance, but for some reason we were talking about
our family dentist, Dr. Taylor.

And who should we see literally about 10 seconds later at the mall - Dr.
Taylor!

So I don’t lose them:
1. Two Hondas pass me at the same time on the freeway with license plates with my initials.

2. One Day I was looking through a drawer for my Uncle’s clipping of a car accident he was in. It turn out it was the same “date” of the accident

3. Fri. Mar 25 got an email enquiring about Peter Liguori. 7 hours later on the back of a “Way of a Cross” pamplet. I notice on the last page written by Liguori Publications

4. Radio announcer talking about the “Shroud of Turin”. As he’s talking about it I reading the TV listings and my eyes are on the “History of the Shroud of Turin “

Last night I was reading my John Grisham novel and I remembered that my friend Joe (the proprieter of this blog) had called me earlier. I couldn’t take the call and it went to voice mail.

So I’m reading, and in the very next paragraph of the Grisham novel, he mentions “A ‘71 Plymouth Duster”.

Anybody who knows Joey knows the significance of a ‘71 Plymouth Duster!

What are the odds of that???

I’m cleaning up in the yard. I’m thinking hamburgers. I start thinking of these 29 cent burgers from my youth. Now I’m trying to think of the name that hamburger stand. I’m thinking Dixies or Winn-Dixie. I’m raking and a pencil gets caught in the forks. I reach down and grab the pencil and it’s a Dixon. And I blurt out “WIXONS” That was the name of the stand.

I was in a store the other day trying to pick out a honey amoungst many. I finally made a choice in Piru Canyon Honey. In the process I was ask by a someone in the store, “what would I suggest”. I told her Piru because it’s farms were close by. The very next day in the paper was an article on Piru Canyon Honey.

The other evening I said to my friend in a fun way. “Ernie I’m going to take you to Loudes and have you legs healed so we can take long walks with the dogs”. Driving home that night on the Art Bell show the quest, John Gray said Loudes water was good for you because of the mineral content. I have not used or heard of the term Loudes in years.

Here’s my “WATOOT” and I think it’s a good one. One night about a month ago, I was lying on the couch reading a book. I started to nod off and not yet quite asleep, suddenly in my consciousness, it came to me JAY LENO DIED. I suddenly woke up. You know how there’s that split second when you can’t tell the dream from reality. Then I awoke more and realized it was a dream. But for some reason it stuck in my mind. I thought, “hmm… if Jay Leno died in the next month or so, it was like I had some kind of premonition”. The next morning I again remembered the Leno “dream” or whatever it was. Then at church that morning, someone said, “news flash - Johnny Carson died”. I thought, wow that it really weird. Obviously not Jay Leno, but you can’t get much closer to Jay than Johnny.
